What is E-Commerce?

It refers to the buying and selling of products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks. In other words, when a party is engaged in an online transaction over a network, that is known as E-Commerce.

E-Commerce was first introduced in 1979 by Michael Aldrich. During that time e-commerce was extremely pre-mature but over the years,  the advancement in technology allowed e-commerce to bloom. Today, e-commerce has grown into a multi-billion dollar industry for many top retailers.
